Charity BBQ

Local M&M Meat Shops branches will be joining locations across Canada next month for the 23rd annual Charity BBQ Day benefitting the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC).

Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. May 7, those who visit the stores – including at 6-3189 King George Blvd. and 6350 120 St. – will receive a hamburger or hot dog, a drink and a bag of chips for a minimum donation of $2.50. For an additional $2, supporters can purchase a strawberry shortcake bar.

All money raised is to go directly to the CCFC, a volunteer-based charity dedicated to finding a cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, two similar yet distinct conditions also knows as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

The goal for this year is to raise $1.6 million.

Canadians can also purchase a star in-store at M&M Meat Shops until May 8.
