Outdoor movie night

Movies Under the Stars returns to Surrey this weekend.

The popular summer event, hosted by the Downtown Surrey Business Improvement Association, kicks off Aug. 6 with the screening of Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2, which is based on the popular children’s books of the same name.

Other movies to be shown this summer include Ramona and Beezus (Aug. 13), Tangled (Aug. 20) and Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never (Aug. 27).

All four movies will be shown at Holland Park (corner of King George Boulevard and Old Yale Road), beginning at dusk, approximately 8:45 p.m.

In addition to the movies, a number of pre-show activities are scheduled, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Those include a barbecue – run by the North Surrey Lions Club – and entertainment until the movie starts.
