South Surrey/White Rock business excellence finalists announced

Winners of the South Surrey White Rock Chamber of Commerce 2014 Business Excellence Awards will be revealed Jan. 29

Winners of the South Surrey White Rock Chamber of Commerce 2014 Business Excellence Awards will be revealed Jan. 29 at Hazelmere Country Club.

Awards will be presented in seven categories, recognizing businesses "demonstrating a history of business excellence, innovative ideas and their high standard of superior service, and who are making social responsibility a part of their daily operations, while promoting and supporting important community initiatives," according to a news release.

Finalists are:

EPR White Rock, ADISA Benefit Solutions Inc. and Pelican Rouge Cafe (1-7 employees); Westland Insurance, Moby Dick Restaurant and GS & Company (8-14 employees); and Whitecliff by Revera, We Care Home Health Services, Endurance Wind Power Inc. and Save-on-Foods White Rock (15-plus employees).

New Business of the Year finalists are LegalShield, Sticky's Candy and All of Oils, Wholesome Oils and Vinegars.

Non-profit Organization of the Year finalists are White Rock South Surrey Hospice Society, White Rock Museum & Archives and Seniors Come Share Society.

In the running for Business Person of the Year (self-owned) are George Zambus (Cosmos Greek Restaurant), Robert Madsen (White Rock/South Surrey U-Lock Mini Storage) and John Dale Bradford (Bradford & Green Law Office).

Finalists in the corporate Business Person of the Year category are Jeri Cox (Semiahmoo Shopping Centre), Guy Dorchester (Morgan Crossing White Spot) and Michael Braun (DMCL, LLP).
