Turning junk into treasure

People are encouraged to check their garages, basements and closets for items to contribute to a fundraising event for Adams Road Elementary and the Developmental Disabilities Association.

Donations can be dropped off at the school, 18228 68 Ave., on May 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. and May 12 from 8 to 10 a.m.

Clothing and accessories, table linens, bedding towels, sleeping bags and drapery in standard garbage bags will be accepted, as well as copy-paper sized boxes containing books, electronics (except computer monitors and stereos), sporting gear, toys, games, pots and pans, CDs, DVDs and stationary supplies.
