Tea fundraiser

Women interested in supporting education programs in Kenya are invited to a Strawberry Tea fundraiser June 5 in Ocean Park.

Proceeds from the 2-4 p.m. event at 2441 Christopherson Rd. will benefit the African Canadian Continuing Education Society, a South Surrey-based non-profit that has been working since 1993 to provide Africans with access to education.

Cost of the June 5 tea is $25. The afternoon is to feature tea, desserts and entertainment. For more information, call 604-531-6739.

Those interested in learning more about ACCES are invited to attend the society’s annual general meeting June 11.

The 2 p.m. event is open to the public, however, only ACCES members – anyone who donated $50 or more to the society in 2010 – may vote. To confirm attendance, call 604-688-4880 or email info@acceskenya.org
