Gala grand total

Community policing programs in South Surrey and White Rock will receive a boost of about $40,000, from the recent Red Serge Reception & Auction.

Held Sept. 15 at Belle’s on 32, the 19th annual gala featured entertainment and a live and silent auction.

Gross revenue was just under $55,000, said Steve Christian, chair of the Semiahmoo Volunteer Community Police Society, which organized the gala.

Since inception, the soiree has raised more than $500,000 for community policing programs.
