White Rock Relay for Life volunteers sought

The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for individuals interested in helping with the 2012 White Rock/South Surrey Relay for Life.

The ninth annual, 12-hour event is set for 6 p.m. June 22 to 6 a.m. June 23 at Centennial Park, 14600 North Bluff Rd.

It is an opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to the disease and mobilize communities to make a difference. A Survivor Lap is to take place at 7 p.m.

There are several ways to get involved: join the volunteer organizing committee (approximately four hours per month); register a team by visiting www.relaybc.ca/whiterock2012 or calling 604-536-2940 ($10 Early Bird registration until Jan. 31, 2012); or become an event-day volunteer (shifts of four to eight hours on Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23.

To get involved or for more information, call 604-536-2940, or email stoddbooth@bc.cancer.ca
