Surrey sock hop to benefit charity

A dance to benefit a youth charity is set for Sunday, April 29 in North Surrey.

The Surrey Community Sock Hop will be held at the Metro Kids Auditorium, 12332 Pattullo Pl., from 6:30-10 p.m., with net proceeds to benefit Surrey's Metro Kids Society, which offers programs for underprivileged children and youth.

The family-friendly sock hop is open to singles and couples, and includes a beginner dance lesson from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

With music by Cheek to Cheek, the event includes an onsite concession – with all proceeds donated to the Metro Kids – dance contests and prizes.

Cost is $5 for students, $8 for adults and $15 for a family. For a chance at free admission (only 10 free tickets available), call 604-536-0195.
