Cyclist team to host fundraising event Belle's
Snow has yet to fall on the Semiahmoo Peninsula, but winter will be in full swing at a South Surrey restaurant Friday night, nonetheless.
Team Fun First and Foremost – a group of cyclists raising money for the 2013 Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer – will host a Winter Gala from 7 p.m. to midnight at Belle's on 32nd (14007 32 Ave.).
The evening soiree is to include food, drink, a 50/50 draw and a silent auction. Items up for bid will include entries into two mass-cycling events – RBC GranFondo Whistler and Prospera Valley GranFondo – and gift baskets donated by local businesses.
Tickets are $50 and include hors d'oeuvres, a drink and music. Proceeds go to the Ride, a two-day event set for June 15 and 16 which benefits the B.C. Cancer Foundation.
Team Fun First and Foremost captain Alita Stoelers said the team – a group of friends, siblings and cousins who are participating in the Ride for the third year – has set an overall fundraising goal of $25,000.
