White Rock councillor named as treasurer

White Rock Coun. Helen Fathers has been appointed treasurer of Fraser Valley Regional Library.

The term was announced last week, following annual FVRL elections that put Langley Township Coun. Grant Ward back in the chair’s seat.

Other appointments included City of Port Coquitlam Coun. Michael Wright to vice-chair; Corporation of Delta Coun. Jeannie Kanakos as BC Library Trustees Association representative; District of Hope Coun. Ron Smith to InterLINK representative; and District of Maple Ridge Coun. Corisa Bell to InterLINK alternate.

The FVRL system includes 24 libraries, including White Rock’s.

The board consists of elected officials representing 15 member communities and regional districts.
