Royally honoured
A White Rock woman has been added to the list of Peninsula residents to receive the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Kathy Thornton was honoured among other recipients at the headquarters of World Vision Canada in Toronto on Jan. 27.
Thornton, who survived a brain tumour, has been a volunteer with World Vision for seven years.
The medal is being awarded to 60,000 Canadians to celebrate the queen’s 60-year reign.
