More than $6,000 is up for grabs to elementary schools, in the Burn Awareness Week Poster Contest.
The BAW program, hosted by the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund, runs through Feb. 9 and aims to teach kids to be responsible for their own safety while raising families’ awareness of potentially harmful situations.
The poster contest is hoped to encourage student participation.
Every entrant receives a participation prize and 50 students will win money for their school.
There are seven regional prizes, including a $1,000 grand prize and six $500 prizes. Three winners will be chosen in the Lower Mainland.
There are 43 runner-up prizes of $50 to be awarded.
