Crescent Beach’s Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCM-SAR) volunteers can now be seen on the road as well as the water.

Images of Tim Murphy (with son Graycen), Morgan Brewster and James Hackett now adorn a 53-foot freight trailer that travels throughout the Lower Mainland.

The “moving billboard” – donated by a subsidiary company (360 Media Ltd.) owned by team supporter Dan Saam – is hoped to help the unit spread their fundraising and recruiting message.

“They took care of the details and created a high-resolution, weather-resistant, full-wrap advertisement for our organization,” station leader Spencer Barnes said of 360 Media Ltd.

“This particular trailer will be seen throughout the Lower Mainland.”

The donation comes as the rescue team – which responds to marine emergencies in the Crescent Beach, Boundary Bay and White Rock area – awaits the arrival of a new vessel.

The crew relies on donations, corporate support and fundraising to operate. To that end, they will host the ninth annual Golf for Vigilant next month.

The June 20 event – a day of golf, dinner and prizes – is to take place at the Hazelmere Golf and Tennis Club.
