Dutch memorial event set for Sunday

Dutch-Canadians will mark the liberation of the Netherlands with a memorial service called Dodenherdenking May 4 in White Rock.

The annual event – now in its fourth year – will take place at city hall, 15322 Buena Vista Ave., at 2 p.m. and will feature a wreath-laying ceremony to mark the liberation by the Canadian army at the end of the Second World War.

After the ceremony, there will be a one-hour reception at the Royal Canadian Legion #008, 2290 152 St.
