Bridge luncheon back at Kent Street

There are still some tickets available for a fall favourite.

The annual Bridge Luncheon is scheduled for Monday, Oct.31 from 12:30-4 p.m.

Enjoy a delicious lunch followed by a friendly afternoon of contract bridge. Please sign up with a partner. Win big with draws and great door prizes.

Tickets are only $15 each and are available at the Kent Street office. Advance ticket sales only. A spooktacular time will be had by all!

n Roll up your sleeve for Blood Pressure Monitoring by volunteer nurses on Monday, Oct. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kent Street Centre. No appointment is necessary for this free service, which is available to adults 55-plus.

n Join horticulturalist and garden designer Estelle Bogoch on Saturday, Oct. 22 for a hands-on lesson about pruning. Learn the correct way to prune trees and shrubs.

There is still room in Estelle’s Oct. 17 class on Gardening in Autumn.

n Wednesday night dancers will be toe-tapping to the live tunes of Good Vibrations Oct. 12.

Come and check out the fun at the Kent Street Dances 1475 Kent St.

Members $4/non-members $5, includes lovely snacks during the break. Music from 7:30-10:30 p.m, doors open at 7 p.m.

n Now that it’s getting cooler outside, turn your attention indoors and try your hand at bingo, every Tuesday, 1-3 p.m. at Kent Street Activity Centre. Twenty-five cents cents per card – great fun, small cash prizes and jackpot games.

n Kent Street played host to two spectacular events last month: the semi-annual Men’s Snooker Tournament and the annual Dairy Queen Cribbage Tournament.

Congratulations to this year’s snooker tournament winners Ben Jarosz and Clive Griffiths, and this year’s cribbage tournament winner’s Jackie Cleroux and Betty Crawford.

Special thanks to the local businesses who donating many wonderful door prizes.
