It’s a fun event to kick off the holiday season with mom and dad, auntie, uncle, grandma, grandpa  and other special people.

Tickets are $5/adult and $3/child age, one and older.

Call 604-535-0015, ext: 229 for more information.

If you’re in school, showcase your art by standing up for the anti-bullying campaign.

Winners will be determined by a panel of your peers, and all art will be showcased at the Alex House Reconnect office. The winner will also receive a gift card.

Deadline for submissions is Dec. 15.

For more information, call 604-538-5060, ext: 26.

Our community lunches are a great place to meet your neighbours, share stories and enjoy a yummy meal.

At noon on Dec.12, celebrate the season with a traditional Christmas dinner, including a carol singalong, some festive cheer and a visit from our preschool kids.

Registration is required by the preceding Friday. Call Jenn at 604-535-0015 ext 237 to put your name on the list.

Rides are available in the Crescent Beach/Ocean Park area.

Members $12/non-members $15. (Cost is not a barrier to participation, please talk to us).

Are you looking for a great place for your Christmas party or special event?

Alex House has a choice of three rooms that will accommodate from 45 to 90 people, and Beecher Place – on the waterfront with a stunning ocean view – will accommodate up to 80 people.

Choose a fully catered meal or a variety of appetizers at either venue. Space is available now through January 2013.

Call 604-535-0015, ext: 231.

Alex House offers several different parent-education programs during the year and we keep ongoing participant interest lists.

There is a small fee for most groups, but if you need help with fees or have any questions please talk to us. The next scheduled group is More Tools for your Parenting Toolkit, a group for parents and caregivers of children ages four to 12.

Children in the middle years are learning and accomplishing many new skills, which makes this an ideal time for parents/caregivers to sharpen theirs.

The group will start in February 2013, two hours a week for six weeks. $40/family. To register or for more information, call 604-538-5060, ext: 24.

Donni Klassen is program and communications director at Alexandra Neighbourhood House. For information on programs/services at Camp Alexandra, call 604-535-0015 or go to www.alexhouse.net
