SENIORS SCENE: Come by and join the party

The party of the century will be Thursday, Aug. 28.

Join of Semiahmoo Arts for their Party on the Pier celebrating their 40th anniversary and the 100th anniversary of the famous White Rock pier.

Tickets include a private reception on the pier, with food, fun, fireworks with music from the Powder Blues Band and special guests Mostly Marley. For tickets, call 604-536-8333.

• Looking for lunch buddies? Join the Dining Club.

This friendly, informal group meets the last Tuesday of each month at local eateries. Call Kent Street Activity Centre for information on this month’s hostess.

• There are still a few open seats for the Friday, Aug. 22 day trip to the Gardens at Tuscan Farm.

Immerse yourself in the colors and fragrance of lavender, roses, echinacea and more.

Lunch is included at the farm and there will be time to relax in this beautiful sanctuary. Call 604-541-2199 to register.

• Don’t forget the monthly cribbage tournament this Friday, Aug. 22 at Kent Street from 12:45-4 p.m. in the auditorium.

Bring a partner and enjoy an entertaining afternoon of cards, luck and a chance at cash prizes. The cost is just $4 at the door.

• Kent Street Centre has events to fill your calendar.

There are activities every day of the week, from snooker to table tennis, carpet bowling, cards and mahjong. And even more activity groups return in September.
