Marine Drive parking dips to $1/hr

A seasonal reduction in pay parking rates along White Rock's waterfront is back in effect.

Effective Tuesday and until Feb. 28, visitors parking between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. will be charged $1 per hour.

The new rate took effect along the waterfront last year, after council unanimously supported a recommendation by the city's economic committee.

The option of returning to free parking during the winter – a program that ran in 2008 and 2009 – was not considered.

Rates for the rest of the year are $3 per hour.
