Attention Twitterati: Live chat with Surrey Mayor
The future of Surrey is the topic of discussion today as the City of Surrey hosts its first live online question-and-answer session with Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts.
"Talk Surrey with Mayor Watts" will be livestreamed on the city’s website and citizens will have the opportunity to pose questions via email, Twitter and Facebook.
“The online conversation is a great way for us to improve dialogue, communication and transparency,” said Watts. “The session is a follow-up to the successful town hall meetings that were held this spring and it’s an opportunity to engage the public in a proactive way.”
The event will provide a wrap-up to the six town hall meetings held in each of Surrey’s town centres, where issues such as transportation, public safety, farmland protection and other community planning topics were discussed.
The live talk takes place from 12-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, July 25).
