Police seek more witnesses to Surrey shooting
Police are appealing for public assistance in identifying the person responsible for a shooting last month.
On June 10, at about 4:30 a.m., Surrey RCMP received a complaint of shots fired in Newton.
When they arrived, police found a 33-year-old man lying in the front yard of a home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital and treated for serious injuries.
Police have learned the victim was with a group of friends at a house party in the 9100-block of 147 Street, where upwards of 50 people were gathered.
At some point the man became involved in an altercation with a group of people on the front lawn of the residence before being shot.
While police have interviewed several people at the party, investigators still need to speak with more that were present the night of the shooting.
The victim is not known to police and there is no indication that he had prior issues with anyone attending the party.
