Suspect sought in grab-and-run theft
White Rock RCMP are looking for a man who helped himself to some cash at the People's Drug Mart at 1463 Johnston Rd.
The man, described as a 35- to 40-year-old Caucasian with a scruffy beard walked into the store on July 21 shortly after 4 p.m. and went to the pharmacists counter.
He asked an employee at the till for some change.
When the employee opened the cash drawer, the man reached over the counter, into the drawer and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash.
He was last seen fleeing the area on a bicycle which has been parked nearby at the BuyLow Foods.
At the time of the theft, the man was wearing a dark baseball cap, dark pants and dark hooded sweatshirt.
On Wednesday, Aug. 15, White Rock RCMP released an image of a suspect recorded by a security camera.
Anyone with information about his identity is asked to contact Const. Brooke Cheney at the White Rock RCMP Detachment at 778-593-3623.
