A 70-year-old woman was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning after she was struck while crossing 24 Avenue at 152 Street.

The woman suffered injuries to her hip and elbow and was taken to hospital as a precaution, according to the Surrey RCMP.

Police said the driver who struck the woman was making a lefthand turn off of 152 Street when she hit the senior.

Mounties have issued a ticket for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
