South Surrey ‘dog rescuer’ trial set for 20 days
It will be more than a year before the trial of a South Surrey woman facing dozens of criminal charges in connection with alleged ‘dog-rescue’ efforts gets underway.
The case is scheduled to be heard in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster starting Nov. 17, 2014, according to her lawyer. Twenty days have been set aside.
Olson was arrested in November 2011 in connection with the theft of a bulldog from a Coquitlam backyard.
A Surrey woman arrested at the same time, Louise Reid, was sentenced in September 2012 after pleading guilty to stealing two dogs, including the bulldog.
Olson was ordered to stand trial June 11, following a preliminary inquiry held in Surrey Provincial Court.
