Blast rocks Royal Heights

An explosion at a Royal Heights home has destroyed the residence and sent one man to hospital.

At about 11:30 a.m. Monday, fire crews were called to an explosion and subsequent fire at a home in the 9600-block Townline Diversion.

One person made it out of the home unharmed, but another man was sent to hospital with second- and third-degree burns.

Police say area residents report activity in the home that investigators say is consistent with what could be a drug lab.

Investigators hope to determine over the next few days what caused the explosion.

Firefighters say the home was destroyed.
