Walnut Road Elementary teacher Sherri Mairs (left) and Janice Churchill Elementary teacher Renuka Senaratne participate in a "mark-in" with several Surrey teachers in the Guildford Town Centre food court on May 26.

The teachers were protesting being locked out of school during times they normally do teaching-related activities.

B.C. teachers are participating in rotating strike action this week. They will be picketing in Delta on Wednesday and in Surrey on Thursday.
