Mounties are looking for the man who reportedly shot his friend in the leg by accident this week.

At about 4:30 p.m. Monday, Surrey RCMP were called to 187 Street and 60A Avenue by a woman who said a man had been accidentally shot.

Police arrived to find a man in his late 20s with a single gunshot wound to the leg.

He was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries. He is in stable condition.

Police say the victim is giving them "limited details" of the incident.

The suspect was last seen speeding away from the area on a dark-coloured, two-tone motorcycle

He is described as Caucasian in his early 30s, slender with light-coloured hair, wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt.

Police are asking for  public assistance. If anyone was  in the area and observed the suspect leaving on the motorcycle, or saw the described motorcycle, they are asked to call  Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
