Arson investigation underway in White Rock

Witnesses to Nov. 16 late-night car fire sought

A late-night car fire that occurred in the 15400-block of Oxenham Avenue in White Rock last week is being investigated as an arson.

An RCMP news release issued Tuesday afternoon states police and firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 11:40 p.m. Nov. 16

“The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames in a driveway of an occupied residence,” the release states. “Fortunately, the fire did not spread to the adjacent residence and no one was injured.

“White Rock RCMP is actively investigating this arson.”

Officers have been canvassing the neighbourhod as part of the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or with information that could help police is asked to call the detachment at 778-593-3600.
