UPDATE: Hwy. 1 drive-by shooting linked to drug conflict, police say

Police have seized a white Jeep in connection to the incident

Police say a shooting on Highway One Wednesday night was connected to the ongoing drug conflicts in the region.

Langley RCMP, which has taken conduct of the investigation, says gunfire rang out at approximately 10:30 p.m.

Police say someone in a 1994 or 1995 four-door black Acura was shooting at a white Jeep while both vehicles were driving westound on Highway 1 between 200th and 192nd Streets.

The driver of the jeep was injured but police say he was able to drive to 96th Avenue and 176th Street where he was taken to hospital. He is expected to survive.

Reports suggest the man was hit in the leg.

The suspect vehicle, which was last seen driving westbound on Highway 1, has been found and seized by police.
