Transit Police arrest three men for sex offences

The arrests were made for three separate incidents in Surrey and Vancouver

A 44-year-old Surrey man is alleged to have made sexual remarks at a woman and touched himself at the Surrey Central Bus loop on May 21, according to a press release. Police arrested the man and he is set to appear at provincial court in Surrey on July 6 on one count of an indecent act.

In a separate incident, two men made reports on May 27 after they saw a man allegedly expose himself near the Canada Line Olympic Village station. Transit police investigated but were unable to locate the suspect, until they received reports of a man “waving scissors around while yelling at passersby and exposing himself” in the 3900 block of Point Grey Road. A 21-year-old Vancouver man was arrested and is scheduled to appear on July 12 on two counts of an indecent act on July 12 in Vancouver provincial court.

Chia Ning Liu, 60, was arrested on May 20 after two incidents of allegedly groping two women on Vancouver buses. The first incident occurred on April 28 on an eastbound bus on 41st Avenue at Fraser Street after a woman picking up her daughter reported being groped. The second incident occurred on May 9 on an eastbound bus on Hastings Street near Boundary Road. A woman commuting to BCIT reported to police that she was groped by a man sitting beside her. Liu is known to police and is scheduled to appear at provincial court in Vancouver on July 5.
