Alex Lockhart

Passed away peacefully at Totem Lodge in Sechelt on January 8, 2003, at age 88 after a long battle with the after-effects of a stroke 8 months earlier. Alex is survived by his wife “Stevie”, daughter Diane Anderson (Stan), sons Sandy (Pam) and Mac (Elizabeth), 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, all whom loved this kind and gentle many very much. He spent all of his youth and most of his working life in Vancouver and then retired to the Sunshine Coast some years ago. Alex cultivated many interests through his life – from carpentry, painting watercolours, lawn bowling to wine making and travel. He was quite the athlete who came to love Brockton Oval in Stanley Park as his favourite place on the planet. Alex will be fondly remembered by his many friends as a loyal one who gave freely of his time to anyone in need. A celebration of Alex’s life will be held at St. Hilda’s Anglican Church in Sechelt on January 14 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation in Sechelt.
