Allan Elmer (Al) Lewis

January 3, 1924 - September 20, 2017

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Father September 20th, 2017, at Peace Arch District Hospital after a brief illness.

Al is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Merte, his three children; Perry (Yvonne), Shelley (Lance) Meadows and Craig, his Grandchildren and many loving relatives.

Al is also survived by his sister Gwen.

Dad was born in Hayfield, Man. on January 3, 1924. Al grew up in Glenboro Man., and at 18 enlisted in the RAF.

Later Dad moved out west to BC, Mom followed and they married in Vancouver BC.

Their first years of marriage were spent in various locations where Dad worked constructing highways throughout BC. After a change in profession (1954) Dad began his career in the jewelry business.

Eventually they settled in White Rock, opening Al Lewis Jewelry in 1964 and continued to be a jeweler until the end.

Al enjoyed a life well-lived.

He enjoyed spending time with family, telling his own stock of original stories that we will cherish forever. He loved cooking something delicious up in the kitchen.

Their travels took them through many countries, but they found their paradise boating throughout the coastal waters of BC, fishing along the way.

Dad loved his music and would spend his nights listening to concerts on his computer.

Al was a member of the White Rock Lions Club for over 50 yrs and a strong community supporter, always willing to lend a hand to others.

Al will always be remembered as a kind and gentle person with a quick wit who loved life.

You will be forever missed and loved
