Barbara Turner

TURNER: Barbara Elly (nee Schattschneider) passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 9, 2004.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Bradley,sons Jordan and Corbin, mother Elly, brother George (Brenda), aunt Doris (John), sister-in-law Barbara (Hal), brother-in-law Greg (Gwen), niece, nephews, and cousins, as well as a very large number of friends.

Barbara was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 22, 1958 and spent all of her pre-adult years there. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Nursing from the University of Manitoba then moved to Vancouver to practice her profession. She also received a Master's of Nursing from the University of British Columbia in 1992. During her career she worked at Vancouver General Hospital and B.C. Children's Hospital. For the last several years, she taught in the LPN progam at Vancouver Community College.

Barbara was a loving, vibrant and nurturing person who touched the lives of countless people. She poured her life into enriching the lives of her family, her friends and neighbours, and her nursing students. Barbara was also actively involved in her church as a Sunday School teacher, camp nurse and youth group leader. The positive influence that she produced during her lifeitme is being returned by the great outpouring of love and support since her passing.

Special thanks are directed to the staff of the ICU at Kelowna General Hospital and to Pastor Dennis Kirkley for their kindness and comfort during this difficult time.

A celebration of her life took place at White Rock Baptist Church, 1657 - 140th Street, Surrey, B.C. at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2004.
