Passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock on July 18, 2003 at the age of 90. Bess was born in Liverpool, England, on March 28, 1913. She lived in China and the United Kingdom before emigrating to Canada with her family, settling in White Rock in 1947. Predeceased by her grandson Michael Coyne in 1972, and her husband of 50 years, Terry in 1983. She is survived by her devoted family, sons Tim (Mary), Vancouver ; Vin (Jean), Jim (Marion), Terry (Linda); daughters Nora (Ted) Cameron, Beth (Derwyn) Dunbar, Debbie (Mike) Mellenger, all of Surrey; loving grandchildren Tricia, Vin, Bill, Cathy, David, Sara, Michelle, Brian, Lindsey and Natalie; two great grandsons Brian Jr. and Liam; her niece Gill Smith, Perth, Scotland; nephew John (Meryl) Muskett, Bolton, England; numerous grand and great grand nieces and nephews and many friends. Special thanks to Dr. A Chlebak and Dr. E. Fuller and the Emergency and Third Floor nursing staff and Peace Arch Hospital for their care and kindness. Remembrance Service will be held Tuesday, July 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 12953 -20th Avenue, South Surrey with Reverend Peter Klenner officiating. No flowers by request.
