Betty Winifred (nee Brinton) Galliford

March 6, 2005

1917 - 2005

In her 88th year, Betty was called in her sleep on March 6th, to join God and to rejoin Bruce, her husband of 65 years.

Born in Newton, Abbot, Devon, England on 28 October 1917, Betty was brought up in that town with two sisters, Vera and Hazel.

Betty and Bruce had two sons and Betty raised them almost singlehandedly during WWII.

After the war, being a military wife, she was used to packing up on a yearly basis and moving to different parts of Europe.

In 1957 she brought her two sons, Brian and Roger to Canada to join Bruce who had scouted out a new and more permanent home in Vancouver.

For the past 19 years, Bruce and Betty lived in South Surrey, BC.

Predeceased by Bruce, October 25, 2003, Betty leaves to mourn her two sons; Brian (Royce) and Roger (Rita) and grandchildren; Bruce, Catherine, Neil, John, Brett, Rob, Aaron, David and great-grandchildren.

A loving wife and mother, Betty lived the Ten Commandments.

Sorely missed.

Donations greatly appreciated to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation.
