SHIPTON, Brian

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Brian on June 22, 2007. Brian is survived and deeply missed by his partner and soul mate of 8 years Gail Ross (S. Surrey), his son Daniel (Ottawa), his father Paul (California) and his many friends and other family. Brian is predeceased by his mother (Marion) and his brother (Ronnie).

Brian was born in Florida and moved to California as a young child, where he attended school and loved to play football. He obtained his MBA, but wanted to work with people, especially children, and so continued his education to receive his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. His life work was devoted to helping others through education and therapy in California, Quebec and White Rock BC. He founded the charity "Children at Risk Emotionally", supporting both parents and children.

Brian loved being active in the great outdoors - running, cycling, kayaking, walking, boating, hiking, gardening. He was a "whiz" with numbers and finances. Brian was a sensitive, kind and caring man.

Brian's family wishes to thank all the dedicated doctors and nurses at Peace Arch Hospital as well as the VGH neurologists for their wonderful care and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held at his home on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the UBC Brain Research Center with reference to Creutzfeldt-

Jakob Disease (www.brain.ubc.ca).
