David Lionel Forster

November 18, 2002

Died suddenly November 18 while on vacation. Predeceased by Iris, his loving wife of 47 years. Survived by his devoted wife and best friend Heather; sister Dorothy (Len) Wills; brother-in-law Hugh (Karen) Preddy; sons David Jr. (Verna), Brad (Judy), Monty and Scott; step children Tracey (Darren), Spencer (Lesley), Amber and Rebecca; grandchildren Nicole, Mike (Barb), Matthew, Katherine, Kelsey, Scott Jr. and Jessica. Great grand-daughter Brianna, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dave was born in Hanna, Alberta on February 8, 1923. He moved to Surrey with his parents George and Alice Forster in 1926.

Dave was a "Rock" for his family and will be sorely missed. A man of many talents, Dave was as comfortable in the kitchen as he was on the sales floor, workshop or garage. His word was his bond, honesty and integrity his credo. His legacy of respect for all lives on. The last 20 years of Dave's career were lovingly spent at Sears where he not only earned the respect of his colleagues, but was revered by his customers for his honest and insightful approach.

A service to celebrate Dave's life will be held at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 1480 George St. White Rock at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2002. Rev. Allen Aicken and Rev. David Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
