Divera (Lady Di) Meeres (nee De Graaf)
It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Divera Anna Maria Meeres (nee De Graaf) on March 13, 2017 as she was comforted by family and friends. Born March 6th 1931 in Alkmaar Holland, she immigrated to Canada in 1957. Divera loved to hike and had a passion for sports, which she played into her eighties. She will be deeply missed by all her friends at the various sports clubs she belonged to. She was an outgoing, big-hearted soul and an inspiration to many as she handled her illness with grace and fortitude. She leaves behind Gordon her husband of 46 years, her daughter Audrey (Graham) her son Gregory (Charlotte) and her grandson Andre as well as family in Holland. Please join us in Celebrating Divera’s Life: Peace Arch Curling Club - Sunday, March 26th at 2pm. Special thanks to Dr Gill at The BC Cancer Agency, and to the wonderful nurses at Peace Arch Hospital who made Divera comfortable towards the end, and to all the friends and family for their compassionate support. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations to White Rock Hospice Society. Lady Di will be remembered as a ray of sunshine, making everyone feel welcomed with a smile and a hug, and for living life to the fullest.
