LEASK, Doris Ann

Doris Ann Leask was born on July 13th 1923 to parents Christopher and Gertrude Light in the town of Leask. Doris was the youngest of seven children and lived a care free childhood in the village of Leask. Summers were spent at Emerald Lake staying in a big tent with her family. After completing high school Doris went to Saskatoon where she took a secretarial course and worked in the Bank of Montreal.

Doris married Charles Leask of Marcelin in June of 1946- first living on the farm at Marcelin, then working in Fernie for the winter. After the birth of their daughter Phyllis they moved to Melfort where Charles started working for the Sask Wheat Pool. The birth of their son occurred in Melfort. They spent 10 happy years being active in the community- the Anglican Church, the golf course, and the farm they purchased. Summers were always spent at the shack tent in Waskesiu - on the golf course and down at the beach. From Melfort they moved to Prince Albert, Saskatoon and Regina making many friends along the way. After retiring from the Sask Wheat Pool

Charles & Doris moved to White Rock, British Columbia to enjoy milder weather. They also spent time in California and Arizona. After the sudden death of her husband in 1987 Doris stayed in White Rock for 20 more years- playing bridge, golfing and traveling.

In 2005 she decided to move back to Saskatchewan to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her daughter Phyllis Bedard, son - in - law Gerry, grandson Geoff (Jennifer) and great grandchildren Josh & Karlee, grandson Doug (Tammy) and great grandson Donavin, Son Doug Leask, daughter-in-law Marilyn, granddaughters Heather and Karen and grandson Brandon.

Funeral Service to be held at All Saints Anglican Church in Melfort, Saskatchewan at 10:30 AM on October 15, 2007.
