DORIS GLOVER

Glover : Doris - November 28, 1912 - September 16, 2005, died under tragic circumstances in Peace Arch Hospital with her daughter by her side, after being hit by a car on North Bluff Road in White Rock. She was predeceased by her loving husband Maurice John Glover. Doris is survived by her beloved and heartbroken family: daughter Juliette Bayliss (Canada) with four children ; Andre, Robert, Michelle and Roger van Veen, and son Richard Glover (Australia) wih sons Nicholas and Dominic, as well as numerous relatives and friends. Doris was the youngest of thirteen children, 7 boys, 6 girls - three sets of twins - two boys, two girls and a girl and a boy. Hers was a very close and most loving family to whom she was always dedicated. Over the years Doris traveled extensively with her husband Maurice and had many fascinating stories to share. She was truly a most remarkable woman; kind, gentle, compassionate, generous, caring, considerate, fiercely independent, hardworking and active to the end. In Britain Doris enjoyed her teaching position for many years and loved "all my children", always devoted that extra time and effort in all she did for them. She emigrated to Canada in 1969 arriving on her birthday and loved our beautiful country. The photograph of Doris was taken just two days before we lost her so tragically. A funeral service was held Monday, September 26, 2005 with interment at Gardens of Gethsemani.
