Doris Winnifred WHITE

WHITE: Doris Winnifred (nee Thatcher) born October 9, 1934 passed away at Peace Arch Hospital on August 13, 2007. She was pre-deceased by both parents and her brother Michael. Survived by Phyllis Barnson (sister) of White Rock and brother William (Jackie) of Trail, B.C. Nieces Patsy, Janice, Lori and Debbie and nephews Gerry, William Jr. and Mark and other family members. Doris was a retired school teacher of 35 years, an active member of St. John's Presbyterian Church; she loved to share her musical talents of piano playing and singing at Extended Care Homes, and enjoyed quilting with the retired teacher's Association. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Doris had a deep faith in God, which carried her through the many trials of her life. We would like to thank Dr. Lourens Perold for his compassionate and tender care and also the emergency nurses and the fourth floor nurses at Peace Arch Hospital. Deep thanks to the Rev. Willem van der Westhuizen from St. John's Presbyterian Church. A service of remembrance will be held at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 1480 George St. White Rock on Saturday August 18th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation or St. John's Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.
