May 9, 1914 - February 8, 2017
Dorothy passed away peacefully on February 8, 2017 at Peace Arch Hospice where she received loving, compassionate care from the "angel" nurses, Dr. Collins and Hospice volunteers. She was born the 8th of 9 children to Arthur and Rebecca Drage in Finedon, England. Dorothy is predeceased by her loving husband Wilfred (Jim) in 1994 and survived by her daughters Anne (Ron), Pamela (Charles), grandchildren Kimberley (Tony), Sean (Moyra), Lesley, Kevin, great-grandchildren Olivia, Emily, Thomas, Isabella, Mairead, Orlagh, nephew Brian (Josephine), great-nieces Lesley (Brian), Sharon (Dale), and relatives in England.
Dorothy lived a long and memorable life. The family emigrated from England to Canada in 1955 and made Toronto their home. After retirement they moved to Victoria, Comox, and finally to White Rock. Dorothy was a very special person and had the uncanny ability to touch and become part of so many lives wherever she went. Her generous heart was always open, full of joy and laughter.
Thank you to the staff at Rosemary Heights Retirement Concepts, where she lived the final chapter of her life, for offering a warm, caring environment which she was happy to call home.
