Douglas George Yelle

September 10, 2004

Born August 4, 1963 in Vancouver, passed away at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, B.C., on September 10, 2004 after a courageous and painful battle with melanoma (skin cancer).

Doug loved any time that was spent out of doors, especially fishing, hunting and camping.

Doug is survived by his best friend and loving companion Kristina Malatestinic, his beloved daughter Kaitlin (age 12) Nanaimo, of whom he was so proud and loved dearly. His parents Ann and George Yelle, Nanaimo, his sisters Barbara (David) Taylor of Nanaimo and Alison (Troy) O'Toole of Prince Rupert, his nephews Matthew, Andrew and Michael Taylor, Nanaimo, his grandmother Aimee Beggs, Summerland, B.C., Kaitlin's mother Evelyn Gardner and a very large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins, especially Glenn Noble, Summerland.

Doug was a long-time employee of Save-On Foods Bakery Division. Doug's family would like to thank the Surrey Cancer Clinic, Dr. Lee, Dr. King, Dr. Lebl and the wonderfull staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Peace Arch Hospital for the loving care he received. We would also like to thank all his friends who visited and phoned him, especially his long-time friends Debralene Hill and Keith Ingenthron.

His family would like to invite friends to attend an open house in celebration of Doug's life at his parent's home 3596 Planta Road, Nanaimo on Saturday, September 18 from 2-5 p.m.

Flowers are gratefully declined.
