Elizabeth McCreath

McCreath - Elizabeth was born in Blairmore, AB on September 17, 1922 to Joan (nee Spencer) and Henry Griesbach. Betty departed this life in the presence of our Lord at Langley Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 10, 2007.

Betty is survived by her children Linda (Neil), Richard (Judie) and Gail (Ernie), grandchildren Sherry, Darlene (Greg), Jeff (Monica), Dianne (Donnie), Michele (Chris) and Michael (Jenni) and great grandchildren, Jade, Christian, Cassidy, Mariah, Jack and Sarah. Betty was predeceased by a son Vern Lee Wagar.

Betty was one of five children which included John (Margaret), Mona (Earl), Mary and Bill. Betty was raised in Penticton and after graduating in 1942 joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. Betty was stationed in the Western Air Command Headquarters in Vancouver as a Clerk Operations Fighter "B" Group. After her discharge in 1944, in Winnipeg, Betty met Corporal Clifford Wagar (RCAF) and began her family in Penticton. The military meant Betty lived in Bella Bella (BC), White Horse (Yukon), Goderich (On), Nottingham (England) and Moose Jaw (Sk). Clifford passed in 1966. Betty remarried Ted McCreath (passed in 1975) and moved to White Rock in 1970. Betty remained at the same address in White Rock until March 2003 when she moved to Magnolia Gardens in Langley.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by Betty and her family. A service honoring Betty will be held on Monday, April 16, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre (14831 - 28th Avenue, Surrey, B.C. )
