Passed away peacefully September 16th, 2005 with his loving wife of 49 years by his side.
Bert will be dearly missed by his wife Brigitte, two children Barbara and Andreas (Shelley), sisters Lina (Hans) and Hilde, and brothers Walter (Maria) and Kurt (Tutsi), along with his many friends and colleagues.
Born in Ternberg Austria on Jan 2, 1924 he came to Canada after serving his country in World War Two to fulfill his dream of becoming a merchant.
Soon after his arrival in Canada he relocated to Vancouver where he met Brigitte and together they set off to make their dreams come true, dreams, which were realized with integrity and honesty every step of the way as they forged forward to maintain Reids Home Hardware for 35 years in Port Coquitlam.
A celebration of his life was held for this successful, wonderful man on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 14644 - 72nd Ave, Surrey, at 2 pm
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Bert's memory to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation.
