JOHNSTON, Esther B.
On March 23, 2006 as dawn was breaking, with her family by her side, Esther passed away peacefully at age 91. Esther was born in North Dakota, May 30, 1914. The family moved to Sexsmith, Alberta where she spent her early school years. After marrying Ron in 1936, she lived in Edmonton, Innisfail, Nightingale, Hussar, and White Rock. Esther was an active member of her community and was always there when needed. Esther was predeceased by her husband Ron in 2000. She is survived by her sons Brian (Diane) of Medicine Hat, Alta., Dennis (Joan) of Edmonton, Alta., Grant (Sheila) of White Rock; grandchildren Dionne, Brent (LeighAnne), Melissa (Joseph), Andrea, Megan, Mark; and great grandchildren Meagan, Regan, Mateo and Nikolas, 2 sisters, 1 brother and all her very good friends at Crescent Gardens. Thanks to all the staff at Peace Arch Hospital for their gentle care during this past month. A memorial service will be held at Crescent Gardens on April 8th at 3 p.m. She will be missed by all who have been touched by her in their lives. She will always remain a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
