Esther passed away peacefully in Abbotsford after a short illness. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, son Leslie & grandson Kristopher. She is survived by son David (Margaret) Rae-Arthur of Tofino, sister Violet (Swanson) Doerksen, brother Earl Morris Swanson, three grandsons: Stephen (Kathleen) Rae-Arthur of Port Alberni, Scott (Pilar) Rae-Arthur of Tofino and Wade Rae-Arthur of Victoria and four great-grandchildren: Chelsea, Ryan, Riley and Gracie. Esther was involved in the church her entire life, teaching Sunday school, playing the banjo-mandolin, piano and sang alto in many duets and choirs. Our family would like to express our thanks to the staff of Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Tabor Home, Kaisu Doerksen and Shirley Swanson for making Esther's final days as comfortable as possible. No service by request. A gathering of close friends and relatives will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 11:00 am at Aldergrove Fellowship Baptist Church.
