Ethel Sutherland

SUTHERLAND, Ethel Mabel (nee Rhead) June 28, 1914 – February 25, 2007, widow of Campbell George Sutherland, died peacefully at age 92 at Rosewood Manor, Langley Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by one remaining brother Clarence A. Rhead, her three children Elsie K. Alarid, Donald and Clifford Sutherland, grandchildren Michelle, Zia, Christine, David, Tara, Andrew, Amber, Tamara, Leyla and Toby and great grandchildren Benjamin, Caitlin and Reagan. Born in Nelson, Ethel also lived in Clinton, Price George, Chilliwack, West Vancouver, White Rock and Langley. She is best remembered as an active church member, a matron of O.E.S., an athlete and as a musician. She loved the piano and singing in church choirs and with Sweet Adelines. Best of all, she loved being a sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Her life will be celebrated at Langley Presbyterian Church, 20867 44 Ave., Langley on Monday, March 5 at 12 noon.

Ashes will be spread to join Cam’s in Horseshoe Bay and in Ashcroft.
