Eunice died peacefully, in the company of close family and friends at Peace Arch Hospital on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 ending a valiant 14 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Eurnice is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law Bob and Ruby Gates of Florida; two grandsons; Robert Johnson and family of North Carolina and Ryan Johnson and family of New York; sister Marie Dembek of Pt. Coquitlam; nieces Shirley Miller of Minnesota, Lynda Oben of Cloverdale and Carrol Allard of Peachland. As well, she leaves numerous cousins, grand-nieces and nephews, and many close friends across Canada and the U.S. Eunice was a talented and accomplished artist whose works brighten many homes and businesses across Canada and the United States. She was a hard-working member of numerous art groups and associations during her extensive career. By her instructions, there is to be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eunice's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or Peace Arch Hospital.
