TREMBLAY, Evelyn Muriel

June 5, 1915 ~ Nov. 1, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Tremblay announces the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Evelyn died peacefully after a short stay at Peace Arch Hospital on November 1st, 2009. Evelyn was the perfect partner to husband George for 68 years who predeceased her in 2007. Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Lynn (Doug) and Joan, grandchildren Todd (Seetha), Wendy (Richard) and Jennifer and her great grandchildren Ashley, Brianna, Rayna and Rohan. Evelyn was born in Auckland, New Zealand on June 15, 1915 but shortly after moved to White Rock, BC, followed by a later move to Vancouver. In 1938 she married her long time love George Tremblay. As a couple they were always together as they enjoyed life to the fullest, from the young family years in Point Grey, to the snowbird years in Hemet, California, to retirement in White Rock. Always active and on the go, many will remember the couple walking the streets of their beloved White Rock on their daily stroll. After George's death Evelyn moved into her new home at Crescent Gardens and continued to make the most of all she had. She made some wonderful new friends and remained as active as ever. One of her great joys was being able to yell out "Bingo", which she did quite often on Bingo day! Thank-you to all the staff at Peace Arch Hospital Emergency Department as well as the 6th Floor and at Crescent Gardens, everyone treated Evelyn with absolute dignity and respect as well as being very caring and helpful to the family. A small service to rejoice in Evelyn's life will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday November 10th, 2009 at the Church of the Holy Trinity in White Rock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, 15521 Russell St., White Rock, BC 604-535-4520
