George Delamere Tremblay
1914 - 2007
George passed away suddenly on Feb 14, 2007. Lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 68 years Evelyn, daughter Lynn (Doug) Mitchell, granddaughter Jennifer, daughter Joan Friar, grandchildren Todd (Seetha) Friar, Wendy (Richard) Parkes, great-grandchildren, Rayna and Rohan Friar and Ashley and Brianna Parkes.
George was born in Brandon, Manitoba on July 9, 1914. He moved to Vancouver as a child. He met Evelyn during his years at Lord Byng High School and they married in 1938. He retired from the Vancouver Fire Dept. as Assistant Chief in 1973 and spent many happy years as a snowbird in Hemet, California. George and Evelyn were also often seen walking the streets of their beloved White Rock.
Private family service will be held Feb 21, 2007 at Victory Memorial Gardens, Surrey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, 15521 Russell Ave, White Rock, BC, V4B 2R4 or to a charity of your choice.
